In order for students to qualify for free and reduced lunches, families must fill out an
application each year.  If you have not filled out an application for the current school year,
you need to do so as soon as possible, so not to interrupt lunch services.  Applications are available
from the school secretaries at each school, or you can download the application by clicking on this link.

Nutritionally, school lunches are planned to meet one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances.  School lunch meets this requirement and only 30% of its calories come from fat.

All school lunches are subsidized by the federal government, even those for which students pay 'full price.'  Also, the Bucksport School Department's meals program receives government commodities for all student meals.

In the operation of the Bucksport School Department's meals program, no child shall be
discriminated against because of race, sex, color, national origin, physical or mental handicap.
